Newsletter Terms and Conditions

Last updated: October 12, 2026.

These newsletter terms and conditions apply to Ungoverned: AI Ethics and Governance for Leaders, Boards and Trustees (the “Newsletter”), written by Dr. Freddie Seba and published by Innovation Hub Advisors LLC at freddieseba.com/newsletter, and shared by email, Substack and LinkedIn.

They add to the site’s Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Cookies Policy. Where these Newsletter Terms and the Terms of Use differ on a newsletter matter, these Newsletter Terms apply. By reading or subscribing to the Newsletter, you agree to them.

1. How the Newsletter is made: AI disclosure

A note from Dr. Seba: I write about AI governance as leadership, and I ask boards to disclose how they use AI. I hold this newsletter to the same standard. That is why this section exists.

The Newsletter is created with generative AI tools for research, drafting, summarizing, and editing. Dr. Seba chooses each topic, shapes the argument, and approves each issue before it is published.

AI tools can make mistakes. They can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information; misstate or invent sources; and describe laws, events, organizations, or products incorrectly. Each issue is reviewed, but errors may remain.

Please check any fact, figure, quotation, or legal or regulatory reference against its source before you rely on it, especially before using it in a board paper, a policy, or an investment or procurement decision.

2. Information only, not professional advice

The Newsletter is for general education and information. It is not legal, regulatory, compliance, financial, investment, tax, medical, or technical advice, and it should not be used as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your situation.

Reading the Newsletter, subscribing to it, or replying to it does not create an advisory, consulting, attorney-client, or any other professional relationship with Dr. Seba or Innovation Hub Advisors LLC. References to laws and standards (for example, the EU AI Act or the NIST AI Risk Management Framework) are general summaries. They may not reflect the latest text, guidance, or how they apply in your jurisdiction.

3. Accuracy, timeliness and corrections

Each issue reflects information available on its publication date. AI technology, regulation, and company practices change quickly, and we do not routinely update past issues.

If you spot an error, please write to contact@freddieseba.com. Corrections are made to the original issue on freddieseba.com, which is the authoritative version. Copies on Substack, LinkedIn or in email inboxes may not reflect later corrections.

4. Opinions and independence

The views in the Newsletter are Dr. Seba’s own. They do not represent the views of any employer, university, client, or organization he is or has been affiliated with.

Mentioning a company, product, person, or publication is not an endorsement unless the issue says so. Examples and case studies may be simplified, combined, or anonymized. If an issue ever includes sponsored content or affiliate links, it will be clearly labeled.

5. Frameworks and no guarantee of results

The Newsletter discusses frameworks, including the 12 Ps of Responsible AI Oversight and AI Minimum Viable Governance (AI MVG), as starting points for discussion. Using them does not guarantee regulatory compliance, risk reduction, or any particular outcome. Results depend on each organization’s context, and the organization making the decisions remains responsible.

6. Third-party links and platforms

The Newsletter links to outside websites, studies, and articles. Dr. Seba and Innovation Hub Advisors LLC do not control and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability.

When you read or subscribe through Substack or LinkedIn, those platforms’ own terms and privacy policies also apply.

7. Copyright and sharing

© 2026 Freddie Seba. All rights reserved.

You are welcome to share links to any issue and to quote short excerpts, as long as you credit Dr. Freddie Seba and link to the original issue. Please do not republish full issues, sell or repackage the content, or use it to train or fine-tune AI models without written permission. For other uses, write to contact@freddieseba.com.

8. Subscriptions and your data

You can subscribe through the sign-up form on freddieseba.com (emails are delivered by Substack) or by subscribing on LinkedIn. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or through your LinkedIn settings.

Your email address is used only to send the Newsletter and related updates from Dr. Seba. It is never sold. For details, see the Privacy Policy and Substack’s privacy policy.

9. Limitation of liability

The Newsletter is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Innovation Hub Advisors LLC nor Dr. Freddie Seba is liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, arising from your use of or reliance on the Newsletter, including loss or damage caused by errors or omissions in AI-assisted content. You are responsible for decisions you make based on it.

10. Changes to these terms

These Newsletter Terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Continuing to read or stay subscribed after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These Newsletter Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
