From the Bay Area to 50+ Countries: What Global Readership Says About AI Governance

Over 50 countries! Humbled, excited, and grateful.

That’s how far my doctoral research on AI governance has traveled this year. It’s at the core of my work, and seeing it read and downloaded worldwide means a great deal.

Brazil. Canada. China. Colombia. Germany. India. The Philippines. South Africa. Sweden. Thailand. The United States. And many more.

Written for one organization, read around the world

– Beyond reject or accelerate: a “yes, and…” posture

– What global readership tells me about AI governance

This research became my book Ungoverned, the AI Minimum Viable Governance (AI-MVG) framework, and the Seba 12 Ps of Responsible AI Oversight: Purpose, People, Processes, Policy, Privacy, Performance, Procurement, Partnerships, Predictability, Protection, Proof, and Precedent.

All grounded in discernment, critical engagement, and human-centered, responsible leadership. The premise: AI is already inside your institution.

The question is no longer whether to let it in. It’s how you lead now that it’s here.

Too often, that conversation collapses into a binary: reject it, or accelerate without looking back. Neither is governance.

AI-MVG moves boards and executives toward a “yes, and…” posture:

– Yes, AI can expand access, insight, and capacity.

– And it demands named accountability, independent verification, and the authority to pause or stop a system.

The goal is sustainable scale, not “move fast and break things.” Organizations that break things get stopped by harm, regulators, or a society that pushes back. Human-centered oversight is what lets AI scale and stay.

Here’s what global readership tells me:

– AI risk is no longer a regional compliance exercise. It’s a shared leadership challenge.

– Leaders in education, healthcare, and business want operational frameworks, not more principles.

– Practical frameworks cross borders. AI-MVG and the 12 Ps were built for real boardrooms, classrooms, and executive teams.

To everyone who read, downloaded, shared, cited, or challenged this work: thank you.

Keep learning. Stay curious. I’d love for you to stay in the conversation through the Ungoverned newsletter, my research papers, presentations, and the miniseries Ungoverned: Applied Frameworks Under the Lens.

Where is your organization today: rejecting, accelerating, or discerning?
